By using engineered nanostructured plasmonic surfaces we have substantially reduced the size and cost of state-of-the-art surface-plasmon-resonance imaging biosensors, while maintaining the same level of bulk sensitivity. Furthermore we have shown that specific nanostructures improve local sensitivity by an order of magnitude, compared with conventional local sensitivity. Our aim is to provide an innovative, environmentally friendly solution for the owners of pleasure boats, via a network of professional contractors, in order to establish Hulltimo as the benchmark for maintaining boats while still afloat.

We propose to use a robot for the upkeep of the submerged part of the hull, without taking it out of the water. We call this automatic cleaning solution Hulltimo Pro.

Simple and autonomous, mobile and economical, the Hulltimo Pro is a real breakthrough in terms of technology and practice. Existing solutions for maintaining the hulls of pleasure vessels are expensive and cumbersome (either the craft must be lifted out of the water by a crane or a diver must be sent down). Similarly existing solutions do not comply with regulations banning waste emissions into the marine environment. Almost all existing techniques require human intervention. At sea or in a port the Hulltimo Pro will enable boat owners and the people tasked with their upkeep to clean the hull below the water line regularly, while complying with rules on the conservation of the marine environment.

Environmentally friendly, Hulltimo Pro recovers harmful waste and reduces the need for anti-fouling.

The increasing need to monitor industrial processes and equipments has led to a significant rise of sensors demand which can only be met with low-cost, low-consumption and miniature sensors.

The Laboratory of Physics & Chemistry of Nano-Objects in Toulouse has developed innovative techniques enabling the fabrication of nanoparticle-based sensors. Particularly, the "electrical nanoimprint" process allows the trapping of colloidal nanoparticles on thousands of user-defined patterns than can be used as active areas of innovative nano-sensors (humidity sensor, strain gauge, gas sensor...). This imaging sensor allows the observation and quantification of natural risks such as, for example, rapid rises in water level or torrential lava flows. GlobeVIP offers you a new method for finding information applied to image recognition. This technological innovation was developed by the Grenoble-based Multimedia Information Modelling and Retrieval (MRIM) laboratory.
This is a generic technology with scope for countless applications. MRIM has developed a generic tool for fast image searches, using a probabilistic model to identify similarities in visual characteristics. The IPPBX XiVO Open Hardware is a full open unified communications appliance either in software or hardware. This is the biggest open hardware VoIP project in Europe.

XiVO Open Hardware

The goal of the XiVO IPBX OpenHardware project is to develop open-specs, open-docs appliance from the design of the hardware project to the CAD files and production files underneath the project.
The solution provides up to four ISDN/BRI ports, a FXO analog line, a FXS analog line, three Ethernet ports. Its Intel Tolopaï (System on chip) processor makes it a powerful and reliable solution. It is sized to handle up to 30 simultaneous calls.
In addition, XiVO Open Hardware has the scoop to be the first project registered under the trademark OHANDA (ID # 0001-0001).

This CMOS imager integrates a patented light adaptive system in order to enhance the image quality. With a classical post processing scheme, low contrasts are lost due to their bad illumination conditions.
This light adaptive architecture is an electrical model of a bio-inspired algorithm that enhances low contrast details in a scene.
This pre processing architecture is spreading between pixel and column amplifier with a low area penalty for the pixel. This CMOS imager includes a 256x256 linear pixel, designed in a CMOS 0,35um. The light adaptive process adds 1,5 MOS to a global shutter 5T pixel. To ensure the functionality, a 9,5T pixel has been used in this first prototype.

1- The laboratory has developed an automated microcontact printing system at high printing resolution, allowing to imprint different production patterns with a reproducible position on a series of substrates.

The innovation relates to the highly crystalline cellulose fibre used for strengthening. On account of the form factor of cellulose materials the percolation threshold is reached at very low (about 1 to 5%) rates. The fibres form a three-dimensional network offering excellent thermal and mechanical stability. By incorporating them in gelified polymer electrolytes (in lithium-ion batteries) or solvent-free electrolytes (for lithium-polymer batteries), very thin films can be obtained combining high mechanical resistance and ion conductivity. It is thus possible to reduce electrolyte resistivity without impairing electrochemical performance.

We offer a device which identifies liquid or gaseous substances, or assesses their quality. A drop of liquid is deposited on a surface, which is then scanned, producing a unique, complete image specific to that liquid. The image is then analysed to identify various liquids. In its miniaturized version the final device could be as small as a mobile phone. A specific mathematical protocol has been added to make image recognition even more precise.

A pressure ulcer is an ischemic skin lesion stemming from persistent compression of soft tissue between a hard surface and a bony protuberance. Pressure ulcer diagnosis and prevention are essential to avoid major complications. TexiSense aims to develop embedded devices to enhance perception, thus preventing pressure ulcers. We have invented a textile capable of measuring skin pressure, yet sufficiently comfortable to be worn daily. In the event of excess pressure a warning is sent to the user or the carers to remove the risk. For paraplegics, a pressure sensing textile cover is placed on the wheelchair and for diabetic subjects a sock measures the pressures all round the foot.

The feet are mechanically sealed and fixed to the base of the pallet or container using solvent-free glue. Thanks to this concept a wide range of corrugated carton can be used, simplifying supply and allowing the system to be deployed in most places.
As the feet are made exclusively of carton they are very easy to recycle.
Mechanically the feet are moisture-sealed. Their degree of water-resistance depends on the type of carton used. All four sides withstand shocks and tearing. Sheets of used carton may be used.

The Tsunami Alerting Device (TAD) was designed to alert the population in Tsunami prone coastal locations. The system can be triggered manually or automatically by the controlling software, which uses the tsunami propagation calculations performed by the Global Disasters Alerts and Coordination System, and by sea level measurements.
The TAD can receive alerts by SMS, LAN, wireless communication (GPRS) or satellite phone and can then activate local sirens and display pre-register messages on the local devices installed on the beach. In order to continuously test the functionality of the system, pressure and temperature are recorded each minute and transferred back to the control system.

The Bioplasmoscope uses a physical phenomenon known as surface plasmon resonance. Plasmons are longitudinal oscillations of electrons coming into resonance in an evanescent field. This phenomenon propagates along a metal/dielectric interface if the incident beam fulfils certain rules of resonance. All the versions of this microscope use the principle of high resolution SPR imaging. Plasmon excitation is performed through a high numerical aperture lens which localizes and confines the surface plasmon waves.
This automatized microscope offers sub-wavelength resolution imaging, which can be used in several fields such as biology, cellular biology, microfluidics and mechanics.
